A Peek Inside February’s Meal Prep Box!
February’s box is full of variety. Our subscribers start the month with cozy Roasted Veggies with Cashew Cardamom Almond Butter Dressing. Next, Happy Valentine’s Day! They’re making Black Rice Pasta with Goat Cheese and Butternut Squash (mac-n-cheese for grown-ups!). Pair with red wine and some dark chocolate for a date-night in. This cashew cardamom almond butter is from one of our favorite small food brands, Jem. It’s stone ground, sprouted (for easier digestion!), and organic. Oh, and it tastes really good too. Perfect in the Roasted Veggie Bowl’s sweet-and- savory dressing (recipe included!).
Our new favorite pasta! Gluten-free and wheat-free, these noodles are made from the ancient grain, black rice, which has more protein and minerals than traditional white rice. It has a nuttier and chewier texture than traditional pasta and it’s perfect in our Black Rice Pasta Bowls with Goat Cheese and Roasted Butternut Squash. We got your Valentine’s Day date-night-in meal covered. 😉
Furikake is a savory Japanese seasoning for sprinkling on rice (and anything else, really). Full of umami flavor, it’s the perfect topping for our Poke Bowls.
Jerk is a Jamaican style of cooking in which meat is dry-rubbed or marinated with a hot spice mixture called Jamaican jerk. Our favorite way to use jerk seasoning? On the chicken in the Jerk Chicken Bowls with Black Bean Salad.
