A simple mint chocolate smoothie. Creamy, naturally sweetened, dairy-free, and vegan. Full of chocolate-minty flavor.
The mint + chocolate combo is a divisive one – some people love it and some… don’t (Thin Mints were my favorite so I’m 100% in the “love” camp). If you’re into it too, you’ll really like this simple mint chocolate smoothie. It’s creamy (but totally dairy-free), full of chocolate-minty flavor, and takes just a few minutes to make in the morning.
Here’s are a few of the key ingredients for the mint chocolate smoothie:
Frozen banana. Full of fiber, prebiotics, and potassium a (ripe!) frozen banana is what give this smoothie it’s creaminess.
Cocoa (or cacao) powder. Full of antioxidants and magnesium (the anti-stress mineral!). This is the brand I like to use.
Chia seeds. Very high in fiber, which helps keep you feeling fuller longer.
Mint leaves. Anti-inflammatory and great for digestion. If you prefer a stronger mint flavor, you can use this peppermint extract instead. I love this smoothie with either.
Medjool date. If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, add a date to give it some extra sweetness. Dates are packed with vitamins, minerals, and fiber.
